Cliches are overused but in some situations are the only thing that can express feelings. At this moment, for example, all I could think of is that how the journey is more enjoyable than the destination. It was a long road trip in Ladakh in 2008 with adverse climate, unfriendly terrain, unforgiving roads, 11,800 feet above sea level, tired mind & body. Pushing against nature I reached Thiksey Monastery, and saw Lama in prayer, encompassing everything outside and within, and a sudden sense of calm and serenity descended. It was a feeling of achievement that I have reached a summit. But, more overwhelming was the realization of the journey that I had just been through.
